Engineer
Are you a practical engineer with an eye for detail, manufacturability, and production? Do you want designs that don't just stay on paper, but actually work on the shop floor? Then this is the job for you!
Zijtveld Grijpers, part of the Swedish listed company Indutrade, is a leading player in demolition and sorting grapples, with a strong focus on quality and ease of use.
We are looking to expand our team with an Engineer (minimum 32 hours) who is energized by designing and optimizing grippers, metal parts, and production processes. In this role, you will be the link between engineering and production and will contribute directly to an efficient, feasible, and high-quality production process. You will report to the Engineering Manager and work closely with fellow engineers, work planners, and production staff in a technical production environment.
Your role
As an Engineer, you are responsible for the entire technical process: from design to implementation in production. You are the connecting link between engineering and production. Your main tasks:
- You design and develop grippers and metal parts
- You improve and optimize existing products and production processes.
- You provide technical support to the production department.
- You analyze technical problems and propose practical solutions.
- You create technical drawings in SolidWorks
- You perform strength and manufacturability calculations.
- You prepare technical documentation and parts lists.
- You supervise trial productions and implementation in production.
- You check whether designs comply with standards, quality requirements, and safety regulations.
- You identify cost savings and efficiency improvements
- You coordinate matters with internal and external stakeholders, such as suppliers.
What do we expect from you?
- You have completed a bachelor's or associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable technical education.
- You have at least 3 years of experience in a similar position within a production environment. Practical experience is more important than pure design experience.
- You have experience with CAD software (SolidWorks is an advantage)
- Experience with Ridder (ERP) is an advantage
- Affinity with welding and/or welding robots is an advantage - You are fluent in Dutch and English, both verbally and in writing
You think analytically and solve problems practically. You work accurately and in a structured manner, communicate clearly about technology, and know how to set priorities. You are a team player with a sense of responsibility, remain eager to learn, and perform well under pressure.
What do we offer you?
- A temporary contract with the prospect of a permanent contract
- 27 vacation days based on full-time employment and opportunities to purchase or exchange additional leave days
- A competitive salary, a good pension plan with PME, and travel allowance
- A company cell phone
- Opportunities for further development through education and training
- On Thursdays, we provide a delicious lunch for the entire team.
- We regularly organize drinks parties and other fun activities such as barbecues. In 2026, Zijtveld will celebrate its 30th anniversary, and we are planning various activities to mark the occasion.
- Working in a close-knit team, in a flat organization with short lines of communication and plenty of room for personal input.
Procedure
We would like to get to know you better and give you the opportunity to get to know us at the same time. The procedure consists of a maximum of two interviews. During the first interview, you will be welcomed by our Engineering Manager.
Afterwards, you will be given a tour of the production halls and introduced to your (future) colleagues. In a possible second interview, we will discuss the further details of the position and the collaboration.
