Assembly Technician
Do heavy machinery, hydraulics, and robust steel structures make your heart beat faster? Do you enjoy working with metal and are you looking to deepen your technical knowledge? Then this is your chance to specialize in industrial cylinders within Zijtveld's production team.
Your role
In our modern workshop, we build high-quality grapples and attachments for demolition, forestry, and infrastructure applications on a daily basis. Hydraulic cylinders play a crucial role in this process.
You will be involved in assembling, welding, overhauling, and mounting cylinders for heavy-duty applications. You will be given every opportunity to develop into a specialist in this field.
Your duties will include:
• Welding of cylinder components and structural parts.
• Assembling and welding cylinder tubes, piston rods, and end pieces.
• Hydraulic disassembly of cylinders, including seals and bearings.
• Overhaul and repair existing cylinders.
• Check dimensions, fit, and functionality.
• Contributing ideas for improvements in design and production processes.
You will be working on products with a serious impact: grapples and attachments weighing between 75 kg and no less than 20 tons. This requires precision, technical insight, and an eye for quality.
What do we expect from you?
We are looking for a skilled professional who wants to grow in the field of cylinder construction.
• VMBO or MBO education in Metal Technology or similar.
• Experience as an assembly technician/welder.
• Affinity with hydraulics or the ambition to learn about it.
• Technical insight and skill in reading drawings.
• Proactive, flexible work attitude.
• An eye for quality – you take pride in what you make.
• Proficiency in Dutch and/or English.
But if you don't have all of these qualities, a healthy mindset and a general technical background are sufficient to learn this profession. If you have the basics, we will be happy to train you further.
